The Kalawa Library and School Project was founded in September 2011 as a nonprofit organization registered in the state of South Dakota, USA. We provide primary education, computer literacy, teaching resources, and library services to rural Kalawa, Kenya.
"Education is the great engine of personal development. It is through education that the daughter of a peasant can become a doctor, that the son of a mine worker can become the head of the mine, that a child of farm workers can become the president of a great nation.”
The Kalawa Library and School Project mission is to provide an exceptional education that connects student lives and their futures in a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment.
Our vision is for rural communities like Kalawa, Kenya, to have access to quality education where students gain knowledge, learn to inquire, develop self-knowledge, and become stewards of their communities.
